Mid-August at the Garden Center
A Collage of Color
Houseplants and Culinary Delights
Inside we have a diverse selection of houseplants for the home or office. Houseplants bring life into a room and can even enhance mood. Those that flower bring color and sometimes even scent into your home. Foliage plants are available for all types of light conditions and can add a touch of green to any home or office. Houseplants have been proven to improve air quality, raise humidity levels, and even help people to fight common illnesses. According to NASA, indoor plants can remove up to 87 percent of toxins from the air. And, you’d be surprised how some can survive on the most minimal attention.
Satisfy your culinary cravings with fresh local produce available in our farmer’s market. The fruits and vegetables you buy at the farmers market are the freshest and tastiest available. Fruits are allowed to ripen fully in the field and are brought directly to you—no long-distance shipping, no gassing to simulate the ripening process, no sitting for weeks in storage. This food is as real as it gets—fresh from the farm.
Apricot and Nectarine Fruit Trees
Mid to Late August is a collage of colors at the garden center / farmer’s market. The perennials are bursting with a mesmerizing display of hues and colors, accented with the seasonal color of annuals in their most productive stage of flowering before cooler weather sets in next month.
Fruit trees offer tasty treats that are oh so healthy and delicious. Planting them in late summer thru early fall is the ideal time to let them get established and get off to a good start next year. The warm soil and cooler days will provide them with great growing conditions. For the porch/patio or outdoor living areas we still have many beautiful and full containers to add an eye catching focal point to any setting.
