Available now at the garden center, these vibrant, cool-weather blooming annual plants thrive in full to partial sun with well-draining, rich soil and are simply stunning with their profuse blossoms. Their sheer abundance of flowers is what makes them ideal for creating diverse vibrant planting schemes for the garden, patio or balcony. Mandala is also extremely attractive as individual plants.

All varieties in both Mandala series have a naturally compact, well-branching habit. The short flower stems contribute to the plants’ compact and pleasing overall structure, while the dark leaves contrast beautifully with the vibrant flower colors.

It thrives in cool temperatures and benefits from deadheading, occasional feeding, and cutting back by one-third to promote reblooming in spring.

Plant Characteristics

  • Light: Thrives in full sun or partial sun. In warmer regions, provide partial shade to protect from intense afternoon heat.
  • Watering: Water when the soil feels dry to the touch, generally allowing it to dry slightly between waterings. Overwatering can cause root rot.
  • Soil: Use rich, well-draining soil, such as a commercial potting mix mixed with perlite or coco coir for better drainage.
  • Temperature: Prefers cool, temperate conditions. They can tolerate light frost (down to 35 degres) but need protection from heavy freezes
  • Maintenance & Pruning: Deadhead spent blooms regularly to encourage more flowers. Cut the entire plant back by one-third to half its size after the first flush to encourage a second, smaller bloom in early spring
