Spring Blooming Seasonal Color

Spring blooming perennials and annuals are an excellent way to establish seasonal color in the garden beds. Within are some of our new selections for the 2025 gardening season which are compatible for our climatic growing area and available at the garden center.

Shown above is Aquilegia Kirigami Deep Blue & White – For blue charming flowers, you’ve hit the jackpot with Kirigami Deep Blue and White Columbine, Aquilegia. Its dark blue and white long spurred blossoms appear over a long time. One of the most cherished of all perennials, Columbine delights us with enchanting flowers from late spring into early summer. A member of the Kirigami series, whose exceptionally long spurred flowers are upturned, rather than facing down.

Ameria Dreamland provides frost-to-frost flowering in containers or in the garden. Very heat tolerant and easy to grow. Remove old flowers once a month for best performance. Tidy habit is perfect for landscape and patio containers. Attracts Butterflies, Deer Resistant, Heat Tolerant, Frost Tolerant. The bright coral-pink flowers usher in spring and continue through frost.

Ameria Sweet Dreams offers season-long color to landscapes and containers with its compact, evergreen tuft of pointed leaves and spherical, lavender-pink clusters of flowers that float aloft upon sturdy stems. Blooming from frost to frost, this tough little plant withstands heat as well as cold temperatures. Attracts Butterflies, Deer Resistant, Heat Tolerant, Frost Tolerant

Aurina Summit – Spring flowering mounds of bright yellow form a blanket over gray-green evergreen foliage. Low, wide semi-evergreen growth is excellent cascading over a wall or along the border’s edge. A prolific bloomer, plant in masses for best effect. One of the most popular of spring-flowering perennials, most often seen in rock gardens or as a border edging.

Corydalis Canary Feathers is a blooming machine in pots or in the garden. This hybrid is tolerant of partial sun and is a great highlight in shady spots. Forms a nice ground cover in shaded woodland or cottage garden areas. Also reportedly performs well in hanging baskets and containers. Grown in full shade to part shade locations,

Carex Everest is a variegated sedge (Carex oshimensis) prized for its evergreen, clumping habit and distinctive white-striped foliage, making it a great groundcover, accent plant, or container plant for partial shade.deal for containers, shade gardens, borders, or as a groundcover. Dianthus Hello Yellow is a charming perennial with masses of fragrant, soft-yellow double flowers. Blooming in late spring through summer (with regular deadheading), the elegantly ruffled blossoms rise on sturdy, blue-gray stems that do not flop. They float above a low cushion of grassy, silver-blue leaves. Easy to grow, and perfect for adding a splash of color in the garden.

Dianthus Angel of Desire are renowned for their blue silver foliage, multi-colored and highly strong clove scented blooms. A typical cottage-style plant that has prolific flowering from Spring through to Autumn. Drought tolerate when established. Heat tolerate. Deadhead to promote new blooms. Their compact, tidy habit make them a star in perennial borders.

Dianthus Fire Star stands out in any garden with its striking red carnation flowers. Euphorbia Ascot Rainbow is Sensational sage and lime green foliage edged in an attractive yellow border that turns pink-flushed or peachy-salmon in colder months. Alyssum Clear Crystal Purple Shades is bathed in stunning clusters of fragrant purple star-shaped flowers with deep purple eyes at the ends of the stems from mid spring to mid fall. Its tiny narrow leaves remain grayish green in color throughout the season. A spreading annual with a trailing growth habit spilling over the edges of hanging baskets and containers.

Lavender La Diva Big Night produces very abundant, large and highly fragrant deep inky blue-purple flowers with violet colored ears that are typical of Spanish lavenders. Rising above a dense mound of attractive fragrant grey-green foliage, the flowers come in waves throughout late spring and summer. Only 14 inches tall and maybe 18 inches wide.
