Another native perennial for mid-summer through early fall color is Agastache Poquito Orange. Agastache thrives in full sun and well-drained soil. Aromatic foliage and long blooming, this perennial is deer and rodent resistant due to its aromatic fragrance. With a dense, mounding growth habit, it flowers on airy spikes above finely textured foliage and has a lovely licorice-scent to the flowers and leaves. The pollinators will love it. With its spectacular orange blossoms is contrasts nicely with Allium Millenium (Ornamental Onion) blue flowers, also a native pollinator plant. These plants hold up well in the summer heat and are resistant to mildew.
