One of the greatest pleasures I get out of my chosen profession is getting to meet with the local growers and distributors of plants and flowers. Herein is a list of my six favorite new and seldom used flowers for seasonal color and container gardening.
So you brought home or someone gave you an adorable pot of miniature daffodils or extremely fragrant hyacinth or maybe you received a potted Easter Lily at church and they produced gorgeous blooms for a week or two. But now what do do with these beautiful indoor bulbs after flowering?
In our spirit; both Spring and Easter are looked upon as seasons of rebirth: the first, a birth into the earth world of the beautiful bounty of mother nature’s harvest; the second, a rebirth into the spirit world.
As anyone who travels Goffle Road knows, it isn’t spring until Goffle Brook Farm in Ridgewood puts out its pansy display. That’s been the tradition since Richard and Dancy Osborne opened the place in 1968. Our reopening this year is special, both within our hearts and with our many customers and friends as this marks our 50th Anniversary serving Bergen County.
