Meet the Team of Goffle Brook Farms

Donna Dorsey of Goffle Brook FarmsDonna grew up in the business. She has taken classes in horticulture and is also a Master Gardener. Her specialties are lawn care and container gardening.

Employees are a company’s greatest asset – they’re your competitive advantage. You want to attract and retain the best; provide them with encouragement, stimulus, and make them feel that they are an integral part of the company’s mission. The magic formula that successful businesses have discovered is to treat customers like guests and employees like people.

At Goffle Brook Farms, Kurt and I wouldn’t ask any of our employees to do anything we wouldn’t do. And we work as hard, if not harder than the rest of the staff, to set an example. We also believe in giving our employees a lot of room to be creative and to express themselves. Pay attention to those employees who respectfully ask why. They are demonstrating an interest in their jobs and exhibiting a curiosity that could eventually translate into leadership ability.

It’s better to grow your employees, steer them into a place that they can learn and succeed, and want to work hard and be loyal, than to have a revolving door of employees. That’s demoralizing. If there is such a thing as good leadership, it is to give a good example.

“Always treat your employees exactly as you want them to treat your best customers.”
